Limit of up to $30 for the entire product

This page introduces how to set a Price rule to limit the Cart subtotal (total product price) to a maximum of $30 for the entire product.

If you haven't enabled the app embed yet, please enable it from the Setup guide.

By configuring the settings on this page, the purchase will be limited to a "Cart subtotal of up to $30" for the entire product. An Alert message will be displayed if a purchase of $30.01 or more is attempted.

Example

The following example explains a product with color variants: "Red $9.99, Blue $9.99, and Yellow $9.99".

✅ Purchasable cases (Subtotal within $30)

• 3 Red items → Subtotal: $29.97

• 2 Red items + 1 Blue item → Subtotal: $29.97

• 1 Red item + 1 Yellow item + 1 Blue item → Subtotal: $29.97

❌ Non-purchasable cases (Subtotal $30.01 or more)

• 4 Red items → Subtotal: $39.96

• 1 Red item + 3 Blue items → Subtotal: $39.96

• 1 Red item + 2 Yellow items + 1 Blue item → Subtotal: $39.96

Step 1: Create a Price rule

(1) Click "Price rules" from the app's left menu. 

(2) Click "Create" on the Price rules list page. 

(3) Enter the following on the Create Price rule page:

• • Title: Any text

  • Minimum price: Enter "0"

  • Maximum price: Enter "30"

  • Price type: Item total (before product discounts)

  • Applicability: Select "Product"

  • Eligible items: Select the products or collections you want to restrict

  • Product message: Enter any message

  • Alert message (Maximum price): Enter any message 

(4) Click "Save" in the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Enable the Price rule

(1) Click "Enable" in the upper right corner of the screen.
