An Access rule defines "which users are permitted to access which product pages." An Access rule consists of the following six elements:
①Title: You can set a rule name for administrative purposes within the app.
②Priority: You can set the priority level among multiple Access rules.
③Eligible items: You can select the products you wish to apply access restrictions to.
④Visibility settings: You can define which users can view the restricted products.
⑤Restriction settings: You can configure actions for users who are not permitted to view the products.
⑥Status: You can enable or disable the implementation of the restriction.
Access restrictions are configured using Access rules.
Restrictions can only be applied to product pages.
If multiple rules are applied to a product, the Access rule with the higher Priority value will be implemented.
You can create up to 50 Access rules.
Up to 50 products can be specified per rule.
Up to 50 collections can be specified per rule.
However, there is no limit to the number of products within a collection. If you have many products to restrict, please use collections.
If a non-permitted user accesses the page with JavaScript disabled in their browser settings, they will be redirected to the top page regardless of the restriction settings.
The name of the rule used for managing Access rules within the app. It is not displayed to customers.
When multiple Access rules are applied to a product, you can set which one takes precedence. The Access rule with the higher value will be prioritized.
You can select the products to be restricted from the following options:
All items: All products in the store will be subject to the restriction.
Specific collections: Products included in specific collections will be subject to the restriction.
Specific products: Specific products will be subject to the restriction.
Products with specific tags: Products assigned specific product tags will be subject to the restriction.
Note: If multiple product tags are set, they function as an OR condition (any of them).
Set the users who are permitted to view the target products:
Guest: Only guest members can view.
Logged in customer: Logged-in members can view.
Allowed customer tags: Restrict access so only logged-in members with specific customer tags can view.
Denied customer tags: Deny access to logged-in members who have specific customer tags.
Password holder: Only users who know the password can view.
A Password Link is a dedicated URL that allows access without entering a password.
Set the action for users who are not permitted to view the target products:
Show custom screen: Displays an optional message and buttons.
Redirect to URL: Redirects to any specified page.
There are two types of status:
Enabled: The restriction is implemented according to the rule.
Disabled: No restriction is implemented.
The design of the custom screen can be modified on the "Settings" page.

Please understand that Access rules do not provide absolute content protection. Product page content is subject to indexing by search engines, and users with technical knowledge can retrieve content using browser developer tools. We recommend not placing confidential or sensitive information on restricted product pages.
Please understand that Access rules do not have the functionality to block orders. Access rules cannot control cart buttons on the Shop app or collection pages for restricted products. Additionally, technical users may be able to proceed to purchase using Shopify's cart permalink system. If you want to restrict purchases from non-eligible users, please consider using Customer rules in conjunction.
