A Customer rule defines "which products to apply specific customer restrictions to." A Customer rule consists of the following six elements:
①Title: You can set a rule name for administrative purposes within the app.
②Limit details: You can configure the specific restriction settings.
③Eligible items: You can select the products you wish to restrict.
④Product message: You can set an optional message to be displayed on products under restriction.
⑤Alert message: You can set a message to be displayed when a customer encounters a restriction.
⑥Status: You can enable or disable the implementation of the restriction.
Restrictions are configured using Customer rules.
Up to 50 products can be specified per rule.
Up to 50 collections can be specified per rule.
However, there is no limit to the number of products within a collection. If you have many products to restrict, please use collections.
The name of the Customer rule. It is used for administrative purposes within the app and is not displayed to customers.
In the Limit details section, you can set the conditions for customers who are permitted to purchase products.
Require account: Select whether to make login required for users to purchase products. If checked, customers cannot purchase products without logging in. If unchecked, guests can also make purchases. Note: However, the display timing for alerts will be limited to "Checkout only."
Customer tags: You can restrict purchases so that only customers with specific customer tags can buy. By checking "Prohibit purchase for customers with the following tags" and entering customer tags in the form below, you can prevent purchases from customers with those specific tags.
Customer metafield: You can restrict purchases so that only customers with specific values in their Customer metafield can buy. By checking "Prohibit purchase for customers with the following values" and entering values in the form below, you can prevent purchases from customers with those specific metadata values.
You can select the products to be restricted from the following options:
All items: All products in the store will be subject to the restriction.
Specific collections: Products included in specific collections will be subject to the restriction.
Specific products: Specific product variants will be subject to the restriction.
Products with specific tags: Products assigned specific product tags will be subject to the restriction. Note: If multiple product tags are set, they function as an OR condition (any of them).
Enter the message information to be displayed Above the cart button (or Below the cart button) for the items set in "Eligible items."
This is the message displayed when purchase conditions are not met. The display of the Alert message follows the implementation of each Shopify theme.
Display timing: Set the timing for checking if the customer meets the purchase conditions and for displaying the alert message. If "Cart updated and checkout" is selected, the check occurs when adding to the cart or transitioning to the checkout page. If "Checkout only" is selected, it occurs only during the transition to the checkout page.
Alert message: You can set the message shown to users who do not meet the purchase conditions during the check process.
There are two types of status:
Enabled: The restriction is implemented according to the rule.
Disabled: No restriction is implemented.
