This page introduces how to set up a product quantity rule to ensure that products within a specific category (genre) can only be purchased when the combined total quantity is a multiple of 4.
Note: If you have not yet enabled the app embed, please do so from the initial setup guide.

By following the settings on this page, products within a specific genre in your store will be restricted to a "combined total in multiples of 4 per order." If a customer attempts to purchase a total quantity that is not a multiple of 4, an alert message will be displayed.

Consider a store with a "Flower" collection (consisting of Pink Flowers, Blue Flowers, and Orange Flowers). The behavior will vary based on the total number of flowers in the cart:
✅ Purchasable cases (Total is a multiple of 4)
4 Pink Flowers → Total: 4 items
9 Pink Flowers + 3 Blue Flowers → Total: 12 items
3 Pink Flowers + 3 Orange Flowers + 2 Blue Flowers → Total: 8 items
❌ Non-purchasable cases (Total is not a multiple of 4)
6 Pink Flowers → Total: 6 items
4 Pink Flowers + 3 Blue Flowers → Total: 7 items
2 Pink Flowers + 2 Orange Flowers + 10 Blue Flowers → Total: 14 items

Access Products > Collections from your Shopify admin.
Click Create collection and set the conditions to include the products you wish to restrict.

Click Product quantity rules from the app's left menu.
Click Create on the Product quantity rules page.
Configure the following on the Create rule page:
Title: Enter any text for administrative use.
Minimum quantity: Enter "4".
Set increment: Check this box and enter "4".
Applicability: Select Cart.
Eligible items: Select Specific collections and choose the collection created in Step 1.
Minimum quantity alert message: Enter the alert message for the minimum quantity limit.
Increment alert message: Enter the alert message for the increment restriction.
Product message: Enter any message you wish to display.
Display timing: Select Checkout only.
Click Save in the top right of the screen.
Click Enable in the top right of the screen.

While the restriction is achieved through Step 2, the quantity picker on each product page will also be restricted to multiples of 4. If you do not want to restrict the quantity picker on individual product pages, you can bypass it by creating a second, different product quantity rule. Click Product quantity rules from the app's left menu.
Click Create on the Product quantity rules page.
Configure the following on the Create rule page:

Minimum quantity: Enter "1".
Applicability: Select Cart.
Eligible items: Select Specific collections and choose the collection created in Step 1.
Minimum quantity alert message: Enter the alert message for the minimum quantity limit.
Product message: Leave blank.
Display timing: Select Checkout only.
Click Save in the top right of the screen.
Click Enable in the top right of the screen.
